There are some apps in the App Store that claim to be mobile assistants for GnuCash, including one that has misappropriated the GnuCash name and logo. Note on iOS and iPadOS: GnuCash is not available in any form on Apple mobile devices. He was collecting bug reports and user feedback on GitHub and UserVoice. The developer seems to have abandoned it we haven't heard anything from him since 2015 and he last interacted on GitHub in 2018. Note that Gnucash for Android is a separate project from the main GnuCash application. Our developers are all volunteers and sometimes have real-life things to which they must attend.) Note that the IRC channel is almost entirely in English. There is also an IRC channel which is usually monitored by at least one developer during business hours in European and American time zones. GnuCash has mailing lists in several different languages. The lists are the best place to read about the experiences that other users have had with GnuCash, and there are many experienced users who monitor the lists and answer questions posted there. I rather just buy a 1 year subscription for $40-50 when they go on sale at Newegg or EBay periodically. If you are having trouble with GnuCash, please note that our primary support channels are our mailing lists. So while I hate the subscription fee Quicken charges as much as anyone, I rather pay 50 some odd dollars a year and keep all my data under my control on my PC (turn off all of Quicken's features for storing stuff online) than have some dubious outfit with questionable ethics and security and probably with offshore employees having access to my data. That 3rd party in this case will often be a smaller company. All the "free" options are web based which means you are putting your financial and personal data in the hands of some 3rd party which is storing it open to a web interface. It has been discussed on this board before, but Quicken remains to my knowledge the only personal finance option that is client based. Yes - there does indeed appear to FINALLY be a free online application to challenge Quicken and QB! None of the Mint upsells, superior reporting options. Uses Plaid to securely link financial accounts. My CPA requests financial statements rather than uploading company or personal Intuit files. Optional paid services include payroll and credit card merchant accounts. While not as feature rich as Quicken or Quickbooks, it is more than adequate for my purposes. I have switched to the FREE m for both personal and small business use - as well as a small non-profit club.
